The Fijians have been in red-hot form, running up big scores against the USA and Wales while Italy rebounded from their opening match defeat to Ireland with their own victory over the Americans.

It’ll take a riotous Italian victory to propel the Azzuri into the knockout stages and Fiji can only play with adventure, meaning this own promises to be a free-flowing affair from the jump.

FIJI and Italy’s World Cup clash was set alight Friday night as NRL superstar Jarryd Hayne found himself booted to the sin bin.

There were scraps aplenty in the fiery first half with referee Robert Hicks blowing up at each side’s captains. But it was the 27-year-old Hayne who copped the brunt of the punishment alongside Italy hooker Joe Tramontana.

The pair were sent off after an ugly fight broke out late in the first half.

The Gold Coast Titans star rushed into a brawl on the sidelines after Tramontana found himself scrapping with Fijiian forwards after a tackle. The spat sparked an all-in brawl with players from both sides grabbing each other’s jeresy’s and yelling abuse.

Video referee Ben Thaler declared there was “no foul play by Italy in the tackle” but found Tramontana to have thrown a punch in the midst of all the action.
